The collective, including Stephan, Swen and Sabri started working on renovating the centre in November 2011. There was a lot of work to be done, emptying out debris and building innovative and ecological solutions on a low budget. The collective was very resourceful. They visited the municipality and received leftover wood logs to make a fence in the garden. They found an enormous window that fit almost exactly as a kitchen window (here are some great photos from the process), and then they used the wood taken down when increasing the ceiling height to build the frame. This is just a small list of examples. On the way the team has learned new skills, received help from the centre’s members and now the place looks great. Of course continuous renovation is going on at the centre.
